Sailing harnesses the wind to propel your sailboat. Sailors read the wind and adjust the angle of their sails and sometimes the volume or amount of sail. You must have wind to sail. Even a very slight breeze will let you ghost along quietly. Without any wind you're drinking beer, rum or going for a swim.
Like the wind many things are beyond our control. As with sailing we can't always change what life gives you but you can change your "tack" or "adjust your sails" to how you deal with it and how it affects you. To keep on sailing as we age we may have to make some changes.
Spring is right around the corner. It looks likes it's coming early this year to Manitoba. Normally I splash my boat about May long weekend.
